Functional Location Format validation TPLKZ

Hi,

Functional location format indicator is stored in table T370S in field TPLKZ. In my system currently there are three formats (there can be more in future).

XXXX-XX-XX-XXX-XXX-XXX-XXX-XXX

NNNN-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

With the given format from these three I need to validate whether functional location is in correct format.

Do we have any statement in ABAP which will do this?

Or If you can provide me a simple logic to do this ... please note that format agaist which functional location need to be validate will be known at runtime..

Hi,

If you go to master table IFLOT, there also you will find TPLKZ field. With this YOu can find to which format indicator Functional Location belongs to (i.e, in which format the functional location is ).

Hello,

You can easily ask an ABAP'er to develope a code, where he can check all the functional location through code. The required table will those mentioned by you and ILOA.

Or during the creation of FL through IBIP the code can be written to stop processing the data where the format is different.

Or this activity can be avoided during the mass upload of data best is use microsoft access and filter down the wrong data.
