configuring F4

hi experts.

I am given to develop a report with selection screen and there i have a field absence type. Now my client reqmnt is they need input help for it and in standard SAP screen, the field does not have F4 help. I want to develop the option F4 for it with only 2 values.

Any suggestions??

YOu have to write your own code in

at selection-screen on value-request for p_abstyp.

itab-field1 = 'test'.

itab-field2 = 'Decsr'.

append itab.

clear itab.

itab-field1 = 'test2'.

itab-field2 = 'Decsr2'.

append itab.

clear itab.

call function 'POPUP_WITH_TABLE_DISPLAY'

exporting

endpos_col = 60

endpos_row = 12

startpos_col = 10

startpos_row = 5

titletext = 'f4 for abs type'

importing

choise = w_choice

tables

valuetab = itab

exceptions

break_off = 1

others = 2

read table itab index w_choice.

if sy-subrc eq 0.

p_abstyp = itab-field1.

endif.

Please check help on 'at selection-screen...on value-request'. Here, you can write a logic to provide help values.

Hi,

The values which have to be shown for the field in F4 have to be filled into an internal table and then the FM 'F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST' has to be called.

Either at the selection screen declaration you can declare the Matchcode id 'ID Name' or you can use

AT SELECTION-SCREEN ON VALUE-REQUEST FOR selcrit.

F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST is the function module wich will help for F4 help when there is no help avalable.

For example ELIKZ is a field which does nto have F4 help.

*F4 Values for ELIKZ field

CONSTANTS : c_elikz TYPE char30 VALUE 'ELIKZ'.

CONSTANTS : c_s_eli(132) TYPE c VALUE 'S_ELIKZ'.

AT SELECTION-SCREEN ON VALUE-REQUEST FOR s_elikz-low.

CLEAR : wa_rec_elikz.

REFRESH : i_rec_elikz.

wa_rec_elikz = c_x.

APPEND wa_rec_elikz TO i_rec_elikz.

CLEAR : wa_rec_elikz.

wa_rec_elikz = space.

APPEND wa_rec_elikz TO i_rec_elikz.

CLEAR : wa_rec_elikz.

CALL FUNCTION 'F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST'

EXPORTING

retfield = c_elikz

dynpprog = sy-repid

dynpnr = sy-dynnr

dynprofield = c_s_eli

value_org = c_s

TABLES

value_tab = i_rec_elikz

EXCEPTIONS

parameter_error = 1

no_values_found = 2

we have to bulid the table with the values u want and pass it to the internal table in the function module.

It will work.

hi,

I think i need to elaborate myself since the solutions u have provided are bit not working in ly case. i have been given to produce a report. Now this report was linked to a logical database. As you know logical databases have their own selection screen, mine had it too. Only prob is it does not have few fields i want and thts y i added couple of fields. Now the absence type i added is not taking any input value and i checked executing it frm SE11 and i discovered that SAP has not got help built for it. while the other field works fine.

Do you think the above solutions wud work or its different for PNP logical databases?
