Table maintenance - check data during copy

Hi,

I have a custom table maintained via SM30.

Data validation is already added, in this forum event 21 (Fill hidden fields) was suggested and it works fine for new entries.

However if the user copy one entry with the 'Copy as...' button event 21 is not called.

Any idea, which event I can use?

Hello Peter

That is what the SAP documentation says to event

<b>Event 05: When Creating a New Entry:</b>

<i>"This event occurs when a new entry is made with the function 'New entry' or 'Copy'. Other activities can be performed, for example:

plausibility checks

hidden field handling (see event 21 Filling hidden fields)

update user internal tables."</i>

Adding event 05 and 21 with the same validation form works fine.

I remember I had strange problems with events for the

same table, probable the reason I don't have it anymore becasue now I have only overview screen and no single screen.
