diff between searchhelp se11,pov

Hi all,

I have a provide a f4 help to one of my fields in the screen.

Iam planning to use search help for that field .

But do i need to use PROCESS ON VALUE-REQUEST. OR SEARCH HELP.

WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THESE TWO.

If u go for search help in SE11 it's global one and it can used be anywhere. But if u do the same in POV it is specifc only to that program.

If u r going to use that field in number of screen better option will creating a search help. Else go for POV.

Hi Deepthi,

For your information :

1. Search Help is created in SE11.

2. Process on value request is that when you press F4 to find input values for a particular field, the required values will be coming in a drop down menu and you can choose one of them and then corresponding module ( written usder this event) will be executed .

Now if you have attached the search hep to a field, you still can use the POV and execute any action under that module .
