Read PGP encypted file

Former Member — Mon, 18 Sep 2006 18:51:29 GMT

I have been asked to write a report to logon to another FTP server, save to file to a local server and then read the data to then further process in SAP.

The only issue I have is the reading the encrypted data everything else I think will be fine.

I was wondering if anyone else has done this or knew of an example in SAP I might be able to gain inspiration from? (Also an example of reading FTP'ing a file from another server would be good)

Any help will be gratefully received.

Kind regards,

Danny Boy

Hi Danny,

Since someone would be handling PGP encryption at the FTP server side, pls ask them about encryption/decryption process and what should be unix command to decrypt PGP file. I went thru few PGP forums but did not get suitable input for you.

There must be some unix level command to decrypt teh file. Once you get that input, i can send you reply for executing unix command from ABAP to decrypt the file.

The server people are looking into running PGP on a server at a UNIX level - I will let you know if they manage to progress this.
