Message Types?

MUST REWARD FOR GOOD ANSWERS

T-code we20 is used to maintain partner profile for sending or receving idocs. When configure outbound profile, you need to enter a message type. This message type is used to define the business meaning of the idoc. But when you go into the detailed configuration of this message type (double click on the message type item to enter in), you can find a Message Control tab where you can find another message type.

My question is that: what's the difference between these two Message Types? How do they affect the message outbound processing?

Thanks in advance.

Hui

Message was edited by: Wang Hui

From the message type mentioned in ur message it lokos like its related to CRM. Take a look at the CRM component there are good information available.

rgds

anver

if hlped mark points

Hi,

1. When configuring Outbound profile, the message type entered is

- This is the Message type applicable to all i.e. it is General for eg. Say Purchase Order ( New PO, New Request for Quotation, Shipping notification).

2. When you double click Message type and go to the detailed configuration, there is a different Message type available. This is

- Here you can define different message Types for different Kinds of Orders viz. For New PO and New Request for Quotation, the Message type would be NEW

But for shipping notification, the Message type would be LAVA.

This message type along with Application Type is assigned to Message control which is unique to an IDOC Type under the Main Message type.

Best regards,

Prashant

Pls mark points for helpful answers
