File Name parameter on Selection Screen

How to store the value of the Parameter file name of the selection screen once we have left the screen.Actually i want to retain the value of file name parameter so that if user tries to execute program again he can uses the previous run parameters for the file name.

Please give your suggestions and solutions.

Hi Gaurav,

after entering the values on the selection screen just

press save button. save the varaint with some text. this varint is displayed when u click on the variant button, which will be seen after the Execute button on application tool bar.

Instead of writing extra code for it, save the input given as a <b>variant</b> for the program.

The user can use variant to store the values on screen and use them later.

Press CTL+S or 'SAVE' button then give the name of the varient for which the selection screen values get stored ..

give the filename and save it as variant

in the program give the default value for that field

so that it can be used in any server as variants will not be transported thru program

parameters : P_filename like rlgrap-filename default 'C:text.txt'.

U can always start the abap with a variant say X...and in your program you can update the variant content via RS_VARIANT_* function modules..there are fm to read/write etc. please check on the same,

Hi,

use below options

1) save file name paramter as variant and

run program using this variant

2) use set,get paramter id

set paramter id 'FILE' field s_file-low.

get paramter id 'FILE' field s_file-low.

3) create a tvarv variable with store file name

and default this variable low value

at selection-screen output in your program

for each call.

at selection-screen output.

select * from tvar into s_file-low

where name = 'file'.
