hi guys,

i have some problems with hiring a new employee. i have to run hr_maintain_masterdata in background, because the application in run from the portal. I get the error that some complex application error has occured. But when i set dialog_mode to '1', it works!!! The R3 IT0001 screen pops up without any error message. I can then just save my data and the hiring is done.

So the problem occurs only when run in background. Any ideas???

Does it generate any popups, or expect any user inputs? The background job may fail because of that.

Monitor the job log via SM37, it should give you some ideas.

No, there are no popups or error messages... when i press enter it says i can save my input (without changing any inputfield).

I forgot to mention that this only occurs when rehiring somebody. First time hiring works fluently.

When rehiring, for some reason the sy-msgno is set to 344...

I think the sy-msgno should be good clue to start with. Also get the name of the msg class which this msg belongs to, and find out what it means.
