Difference between open SQL and CDS on SAP HANA?

Hello Experts,

Of course CDS view is a re-usable repository object whereas an Open SQL query is written locally but, can we write a query using Advanced Open SQL which is available since AS ABAP 7.4 onwards instead of creating a CDS view for the same requirements?

Yes, in fact, Open SQL is more powerful than CDS in latest releases.

We will try to offer as much functionality as possible in Open SQL in order to make Native SQL (ecpecially inside AMDP) superfluous. But CDS can't be substituted regarding data modeling.

What is the type/name of the SQL we use in CDS views? An expert in an interview had warned me when i referred it as Open SQL.
