Populating Test Data Container in eCATT without developer access

I'm new to eCATT and I'm trying to figure out how testers without developer access can supply structured test data for the test execution.

It looks like to maintain values in test data container you need developer authorization. Creating test data variant as external file won't work if you need to pass deep structure.

Even to change variant values via API methods you need S_DEVELOP authorization.

What am I missing here? How can testers upload their own test data without populating it manually in test configuration?

I can't say for certain that a way doesn't exist, but to me it makes sense. The scripts and data are co-dependent and either all or nothing should be transportable. If you develop and transport a script and then let users upload their own data you no longer have a controlled environment.

Hello Vadzim,

I do not think you need developer access to pass data to the test script you have created.

If you have authorization to create Test Script you should be able to pass values to the Test script through Import Parameters.

Also you can pass values through external file through Test Configuration created for Test Script, again you do not need special authorization like developer access to pass values if you are able to create Test Configuration.
