BADI, user exit, modification assistant

hi!

BADI and user exits wont be ovverriden if SAP makes patches, but what about changes made with the modification assistant?

When you "Insert" code because there is no user exit or BADI?

if you "insert" code, for example a call to a custom function:

CALL FUNCTION Z_MYFUNCTION

will this bi overwritten by SAP? or will it survive because it starts with Z?

Is there a tutorial och article where I can read the rules for customizations, what will be overwritten by upgrades and what won't?

When you insert code using the Modification Assistant, you will have an option to retain your changes or reset to original during patch/support pack upgrades.. this option is given via the Tcode SPAU.Please go through this
