I need clarification for the following questions based on ALE.

1.what is the tcode for creating idoc

2.what is the tcode for changepointers in ale

3.what is the difference between tcodes WE02 and WE05

4.How to assign the segments created for the idoc

5. what is the difference between executable programming type and change pointer in ALE.

6.suppose i have outbound version as 4.6c and inbound version 4.7ee and 4.6c. I want to send the idoc to both versions at a time. how to send it.

please clarify these doubts.

Difference between WE02 and WE05 :

Compared to WE05, tcode WE02 have more selection creteria, especially for EDI message types

A.To Create Idoc we need to follow these steps:

create Segment ( WE31)

Create Idoc Type ( WE30)

Create Message Type ( WE81)

Assign Idoc Type to Message Type ( WE82)

2.what is the tcode for changepointers in ale

A.BD50-activating the message types

BD52-to check list of fields

BD61-activating change pointers.

3.what is the difference between tcodes WE02 and WE05

A.There is no difference.

But preference is geiven to WE02

You can cross check with WEDI transaction ( standard transaction for IDOC Related ACtivity )

WEDI -

Only Use WE02 for displaying idocs

Close the thread if the problem is solved

4.How to assign the segments created for the idoc

A. qustion is not clear to me

5. what is the difference between executable programming type and change pointer in ALE

A. In the executable programming type, once the idoc is generated, if v make any changes in the idoc in the inbound side, it will not take effect in the outbound side for this v need to generate a new idoc where as incase fo change pointers there is no need to create an another idoc and the changes will take effect automatically

for this v have to customize BD52 properly.

Hai,

Assign the segments created for the idoc

You might have created segments in WE31 and liked to the message type in WE30(in case of extension). Link the extension with the message type WE82 and find the appropriate user-exit and pass the segment values in it.

this is helpful for u.

1.what is the tcode for creating idoc

first u create the segments for idoc

transaction code is: we31.

create basic idoc type

transaction code: we30.

create message type

transaction code: we81.

to assign the message type to idoc

transaction code: we82.

2.what is the tcode for changepointers in ale

check the change pointer to activate the check box: bd61.

save and go back.

check the matmas check box: bd50.

save and come back.

transaction code bd51: go to idoc_input_matmas01 select the check box, save and

come bcak.

transaction code bd52: give message type : matmas. save and come back.

3 .what is the difference between tcodes WE02 and WE05

there is no difference between them.

but we02 is preffered to view the idocs whether data successful transfered or not.

4 .what is the difference between executable programming type and change pointer in

ALE.

executable program: in inbound system we have to execute the program.

any changes in idoc will not effect automatically on inbound

system again we have process the idoc.

which cannot identify the records which was distributed and

which was not distributed.

change pointers: no user interaction required in inbound system.

changes will effect automatically.

which can find which was distributed r not.

idoc process and transfer automatically.
