BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2 and serial number.

Hi all,

I am creating sales orders using the FM ‘BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2 ‘

I want to create the Sales order with serial number.

For batch number, I am mapping file field with BAPISDITM-BATCH.

But for serial number, there is no field available.

Appreciate, if any suggestions, how to pass the serial number to BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2 .

Hi meenkashi,

Where is the serial number field on the screen of sales order?

If its input enabled field then definitely one of the bapi structure shld have that field.

If it is populated automatically then we need to search for some other alternative.

Meanwhile i will try to check out some sales order but if u knw abt the tab and field on the screen then reply.

In sales order, When we select the item and click on

Extras => Technical Objects, we get the serial number.

Did you find a way to put the serial numbers on the Sales Order?Is there a function module which can be used?

Hi,

We cann't use the FM 'BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2' as here we can't pass serial number and also we can't use parameter 'EXTENSIONIN' of this FM as serial number is not from VBAK, VBAP, VBEP.

I recorded the BDC for transaction VA01 and it's working for creating sales order with serial ordres.

So , only solution is - go for BDC .
