Reading a directory from a remote server

Hi Experts,

This is the second time i am posting this query.Becoz..i am not clear.

I have a requirement to read a directory from a remote server(Other than R/3).I know there are 2 Fms available for this.But i am not able to exicute those.

Those Fms are:

1.RZL_READ_DIR

2.RZL_READ_DIR_LOCAL.

See the following example.

data: wa_path type salfile-longname

value '//10.11.12.13/sumantha/'.

data: wa_file type table of salfldir with header line.

call function 'RZL_READ_DIR_LOCAL'

exporting

name = wa_path

tables

file_tbl = wa_file

exceptions

argument_error = 1

not_found = 2

others = 3.

if i give path like this i am getting Sy-subrc = 2.

after exicuting this FM.I think i will get the IP address of remote server and the directory name.

So Can any body tell me how can i do this?

i think you must not specify IP address. Because this FM's already read local directories.

Ravi,

Have you considered connecting to the server using FTP and then issuing a DIR command? See program RSFTP002 for the function modules involved in using FTP.
