Hey,

As I did a huge project of Barcodes in Smartforms and Sapscript, all I can tell you is that you should strive to make it as easy as possible as you can basis wise, because you will have issues, even with authorized vendors. As I noticed you are already facing it basing on your P.S. remark.

To get started I would make sure that you test on a new Smartform that you create, the up-to-date barcode fonts (more in here) to see if this could fix the issue. Plus, I would reach out to the Videojet 9550 people and ask for a DLL/SH (or any other needed file) to run on your printer server to cope with the Barcodes task.

I wish you a lot of luck, I'm still recovering from my own Barcode project 🙂

Hello,

our Russian subsidiary had the idea to print labels from SAP on Videojet 9550 using SMARTFORMS and ZPL "driver" from Zebra. As far I know, Videojet is not a member of "SAP Printer Vendor program" ( https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/1100779/E )

I'm now curious if this was a good idea and asking you if someone has already made his experience using Videojet printers with SAP.

P.S. printers are connected via print server and actual we are facing problem, that Cyrillic and barcode are not printed 😉

kind regards
Jörg S.

Update: we managed to fin the correct settings in SAP (SPAD) and on local printserver. Important - after setting the SAP output type (driver) you have to find the correct codepage in SPAD (this must fit to the driver used on the printserver)

Fazit: it's possible to print on Videojet 9550 from SAP using ZEBRA drivers

Screenshot SPAD:
