Hi Glen. It's possible that the background color of your image is not actually white, just something very close to it. So it appears to be okay on your screen but then prints with a slight background. Try opening it up in MS Paint, zooming in, and then drawing a block or something in white in the background area to see if there appears to be any difference in color. Was the logo originally created in MS Paint as a bitmap, or was it converted to a bitmap from some other format? Sometimes when a file is converted to bitmap the colors shift a bit, not necessarily enough to be noticeable. You may have to edit your file to replace the background with pure white in Paint.

- April King

dear all, i have had this issue for a couple of years now, and i have never managed to fix it, nor known any one who has. a solution will be most certainly welcome.

using a graphic for a company logo, uploading in SE78, then doing a simple print, the logo gets printed with some kind of background/colour, which then looks like the logo sits in a light block on the paper.

i have tried uploading using numerous settings but with no joy. my logo needs to be colour. is 24bit, 100 dpi.

it looks fine in se78 preview mode, and fine in MS Paint. only when outputting on printer in smartforms or SE78, and various ones at that, across various companies, does this phenomena occur. i will be happy to try anything.

such is the problem, i cannot even show you electronically here, as it always looks fine on PCs. it is only when printed.

cheers in advanced

hi april, thanks for the reply however ...

i created a simple colour, 24bit, bmp, in mspaint, blue text on a white background. uploaded in se78, print preview looked good, but physical print output, the same. i tested with and without compression in SAP. still no good.

then i tried tiff format, but when uploading i get the error "TIFF file: Erroneous TIF format". so that's no good.

so, it looks like it has nothing to do with the actual graphic i have been given.
