Hi There,

Had a look through the search and no joy, basically we have a problem where we use OPEN DATASET for output in text mode, followed by a TRANSFER later within a loop endloop.

The problem is that the program dumps on the TRANSFER but the message is a little misleading it says DATASET_CANT_OPEN.

There is not exception code in the program and I have seen from the search how to build in exception handling but I'm still none the wiser why this happening . . . note: this program is crashing from a job thats scheduled in the background and is scheduled to run every 2 hours and its worth noting that it doesnt crash all the time it could run for days then crash twice then run for days again . . any suggestions, see detail below on system stuff:

SAP Release.............. "46B"

Operating system......... "Windows NT"

Database type............ "MSSQL"

SAP kernel............... "46D"

Database version......... "SQL_Server_7.00 "

On the dump text at "Internal notes" it says the following:

The termination occurred in the function "open_dset" of the SAP Basis System, specifically in line 2251 of the module "//bas/46D/src/krn/runt/abdset.c#16".

Thanks
