Mark object as obsolete

Is there any way in SAP to mark objects, which will be deleted in future, as obsolete?

If so, is there any way to identify such objects quite easily?

Currently we are thinking in the direction to move them to a special package.

I would say the dedicated package approach is the very good idea. This way you can cover all development objects. Otherwise you'd need to find a way to mark as obsolete for each object type e.g. program, table, structure, data element, workflow scenario etc. separately. The dedicated package approach is very consistent, covers all development object types and is very straightforward to use.

Maybe Solution Manager's CCLM is an option for executables? There you can decommission objects so they can't be executed any more. You can also initiate backup and deletion transport requests.
