Search Help Customization

I modified a search help to use a Custom CDS view instead of a standard CDS view. The search help method in a search help was changed to the custom CDS view. I needed to show an extra field from one of the user master tables. The CDS view when tested in Eclipse works fine.

When the search help is opened in the frontend Fiori app the initial display is fine but a search on the individual fields doesn't work whereas in the unmodified one the search on the individual fields also worked. What else do I have to do to fix this? I can write some code in the search help exit but I want to understand the behavior first. Please view attached screen shots showing the standard vs modified.
