Excel cannot close after upload function TEXT_CONVERT_XLS_TO_SAP

Dear Experts,

I would like to seek for your advice regarding the excel is not fully close after the file upload. The program is using TEXT_CONVERT_XLS_TO_SAP, I do not want to use ALSM_EXCEL_TO_INTERNAL_TABLE as this function need to set the number of rows and columns.

Is there any solution to close this gray screen after the program file upload?

stop using this old school FM, check for ABAP2xlsx

May I know what's the root cause lead to the excel not fully close like the above screenshot?

There are numerous threads and SAP-Notes (please check in the Fiori ONE Support Launchpad) with these older (unreleased) Function Modules. They can cause issues, especially when you're using WebGui or a recent SAPGui version.

"ABAP2XLSX" is a great option, mentioned before. Alternatively, look into Class "CL_FDT_XL_SPREADSHEET".

On my laptop, Excel window is not opened, and the app is closed (checked in Windows Task Manager). Why Excel is not closing on your laptop but closing on other laptops is maybe due to some Microsoft Office configuration, or other Windows configuration. It may also be some bugs in Desktop Office Integration of SAP GUI for Windows. On my laptop, Difficult to say, you should check SAP notes and Microsoft-related forums.

Dear all,

As TEXT_CONVERT_XLS_TO_SAP is a non-released function, hence don't have a exact solution to solve when there's bugs and errors occur such as excel program cannot close after the upload program done processed.

Thus, GUI_UPLOAD is a better option to use for upload excel into internal table.

Hi, you may use GUI_UPLOAD to solve the above said issue. Just save the file in tab delimited(.txt) format.
