Hi Thomas, thanks for at least confirming. We have a setup where global variants managed by the central team and only local variants can be created in the project systems and that's all that I'm authorised for. I guess I'm stuck with SAPGUI, but at least it works.

ATC in Eclipse seems to only be able to run global Check Variants. Is this by design? Is there a way to run local variants?

I'm really keen to use local variant as I use those a lot to create quick ad-hoc checks to look for specific issues or variants for temporary use. I much prefer the way ATC runs in Eclipse, but unfortunately I have to resort to SCI most of the time 😞

If it's a missing feature can it be added to the backlog? Pleeeease?

Hi Mike,

maybe the term "global" is a bit misleading here. You can also create ATC variants as $TMP like every other development object. Why can't you use this?

Regards,

Thomas.

Hi thomasfiedler thanks for the response, but that's not the local I'm talking about. It's the visibility, the little button next to the variant in SCI. The button tooltips are called 'local' and 'global' and in the F4 help it's called visibility.

Hi Mike,

I checked with the development team. This feature cannot be provided in ABAP Test cockpit. It is only available in Code Inspector.

Sorry & Regards,

Thomas.
