Export ALV , first two columns are empty

Hi ,

Before posting this query I searched the solution in SDN but I did't find the solution.

My problem is After displaying report in ALV format ,if I press Export --> Local file --->spreadsheet ; file will downloaded to excel sheet but first two columns(only heading no data ) will be blank and next two columns with proper data.

I checked field catalog defination it seems to be ok, any other mistake ?

Please suggest.

Do you have the description of the fields ? is it related to dictionnary ? how did you populate the fieldcatalog ?

Hi Frederic,

This is how I have populated it. For 2 and 3 it's coming blank, 4 onwards it's working fine

Your fieldcatalog does not indicate the field type you have used, does it refers to the correct domain ?

fieldname is a name

seltext_m is the middle long text

col_pos is nothing

if I use the FM REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE for the structure COSS, I have a complete line for KSTAR (for example).

You can run the ALV in "SOS" mode just to check if your catalog is consistent (search the Web with ALV and SOS).

What types are your fields? (maybe they are not handled well by the Export feature)

Another possibility is that the export is still working with the ALV buffer which is maybe obsolete, so maybe you can clear it by calling the program BALVBUFDEL.

A very old issue could be also due to the context FREE_SEL_DD_INFO in transaction code SE33 > initial menu > Edit > Delete buffers > On all AS.

By the way, this line is very bad practice, do NEVER use text symbols for literals which must not be translated, use constants instead !!!

lw_fieldcat-fieldname = text-003.

NB: anyway, field catalogs are obsolete since CL_SALV_TABLE.
