ABAP SP04 - Internet connection problem

Hello experts

I installed SAP ABAP SP04, developer edition last few days.

It works well, except for the connection to the internet server for WebDynpro and fpm.

When the browser opens, I get an error message, saying is not possible to reach the vhcalnplci.dummy.nodomain.

I add screenshots to explain my problem.

You need to edit the "hosts" file on your local workstation, too.

If the virtual machine is running on, say, 10.1.2.3, then you'll add this line:

10.1.2.3 vhcalnplci.dummy.nodomain.

I did these changes, but it still not working.

Leave the VM alone 🙂

SAP is running inside a VM with an internal IP of 10.0.2.15 and a (horrible) hostname "vhcalnplci", the SAP server doesn't have to "find itself".

This VM is running somewhere in your local network, perhaps on the same machine where you run the GUI, perhaps somewhere else.

It is this other machine we're interested in. This machine too has a "hosts" file: /etc/hosts under Linux and c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts under Windows. Go edit *THIS* file. You'll need to add the IP of the computer running virtualbox, *NOT* the internal SAP address.
