Dear Siddam,

why you didn't use an ALV , may be in subdynpro , to populate you list and read with CALL FUNCTION 'REUSE_ALV_POPUP_TO_SELECT' the choosen line .

I use the ALV instead of F4 help in dynpros to programming individuell selections.

If you need an example have a look to <http://zevolving.com/2014/06/various-ways-implement-abap-f4-help-value-request/>.

regards Oliver

Technical Approach

Hi experts, please find the below scenario.

I have a requirement where user select a drop down from selection-screen and corresponding steps to be displayed in the next screen. Let's say we have 21 steps/points to be displayed. Among which we have some blanks/input values which are to be filled by another team and intimate us over email with unique ID.

Now when I select the drop down and give the Unique ID, all those variable values which are filled by second team have to be replaced in the blanks of my 21 steps/points.

Example:

After selecting dropdown,

1. R/in _p1_ tubing with _p2_ packer and GLVs down to _p3_.

2. Again P/out OE tubing upto safe position (Cementing Engineer to decide) & squeeze cement through the existing perforations of 5.1/2” casing by hesitation method at maximum surface pressure of __d9___ psi in stages.

(P1, P2, P3, D9 are variables to be replaced)

* My attempt so far, I've tried to maintain these steps in message class for each drop down and replace place holders. But the problem is we have text limit as 72 or so to maintain in message class.

* Have tried to maintain using standard texts, read_text and replace_symbols. Issue here is, there's a dependency that we need to select few steps among 21 which are displayed using check boxes and only selected ones are to be printed in smartforms or any other use. Using SO10 texts, I didnt find it helpful.

Can we maintain the steps/points in Ztable using some identifiers like &var1 or anything and replace then during run time with values stored in other tables?

Please help me with the approach. considering some of the steps are of length more than 150.
