Extend OData Service API_JOURNALENTRYITEMBASIC_SRV

Hi All, I need to add some additional fields to the service API_JOURNALENTRYITEMBASIC_SRV.
I am thinking the best way is to just make a copy of the underlying CDS View and extend the new CDS View.
Then I would create a new service over the new CDS View.
Is this the best way to accomplish extending the Service? Thanks!

Hi Kenneth - we have a similar requirement to add fields to service API_JOURNALENTRYITEMBASIC_SRV. What did you end up doing?

It all depends on how the gateway service is build/generated.

Based on the name ending with '_SRV' I'd say it isn't generated via the RAP framework. But also if the service exposes a number of CDS's via SADL (if you open the service in SEGW you can find the details under the Data Source References node), you 'only' need to extend the underlying CDS view(s) (and there is no need to copy them).

If the gateway service doesn't use SADL either, I'd considered an extension of the standard gateway service.
