Dear Community,

Recently we migrated our ECC box to EHP 8.0.

Post upgrade, users were facing error FL 099 ( Not Authorized to test function module ) while executing COPOC.

As a fix we had executed program RS_TESTFRAMEWORK_GENERATE which generated test framework for function module.

Basically error was related to authorization where system was trying to generate testframework for FM but user had no Authorization to S_DEVELOP activity 16.

My question is should end users be given authorization to S_DEVELOP activity 16.? Or should we everytime execute program when the error occurs.?

What is the correct practice.?

( Note: we had executed SGEN after upgrade )

Hello Rameez Khan,

Please find the Documentation below, as per the documentation from a production perspective, it is considered critical if authorization object S_DEVELOP is assigned to users. In general, authorization object S_DEVELOP with more than display access (ACTVT 03) is not required by any user in production.

You Can go through the complete details in the below Link:

S_DEVELOP

Regards!

Dear Satish,

I've already gone through this documentation.

object type FUGR (function group) with ACTVT 16 for S_TCODE SE37 allows RFC via function calls<br>

This doesn't answer my question, should authority be given to all users ?

Regards
Rameez Khan

I didn't know that end users could have access to such developer tools. I guess there is a restricted list of function modules... Anyway, I guess that you should better ask the SAP support.

You say that you executed RS_TESTFRAMEWORK_GENERATE as a fix. Do you have to do that for all users (I'm guessing that is not the case) or just once after an upgrade? Because otherwise the practical solution would be to embed the running of this program in the steps for migration (after SGEN).
