Update Payroll Area

Hi All,

I need help in this scenario.

I have a requirement where I need to update the payroll area of some employees.

Now I created a program that would use Fm HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION and would the payroll area in IT0001

However for some employees we are getting error:

PayArea unchangeable for periods for which payroll has run

Now my requirement is that even for theses employees ignoring the error the payroll area should be updated

How should I handle this scenario through code.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

You can not simply change the payroll area in the past.

This would effect payroll retro calculations.

You could change the payroll area directly in table PA0001 and you have to care about all tables, clusters etc. whrer ABKRS occurs.

Very tricky and not recommanded!!!

Usually such changes are done from first day of a month but only after the date of last payroll. If there is a payroll already done information about payroll area is stored also in payroll cluster and other tables so this will cause inconsistencies in reporting.
