Alv report in background , Format problem

Hi All

I am running alv report in background and abap list output data with header comes in two rows.

The columns that are not accomadated in first row is coming under first one and this created problem for layout.

Please check attached image for layout.I am using column width optimize.

I tried no_change_print_params = 'X' in is_print parameter in alv grid display but at that time it columns are displayed correctly but data inside column got truncated.

Paper type is X_PAPER

I have to extract this report into excel.

Please suggest if any other ways to complete this.

The page is grid of columns and rows , if ALV layout needs a number of columns ( i.e. characters for row ) bigger than the page columns , the last characters will be printed in the another row

so the problem should be in the page type you're using to create the spool: you need to check if there's a type having a number of characters can satisfy your ALV else:

-you should create a new one;

- you should reduce the lenght of the ALV columns printed or delete some columns in order all characters can be printed in one row only (so you shoud create a default variant to be used for the job, if it's not possible to indicate an ALV variant in the selection-screen of the report)

The 255 character per line limit in ALV in background has been around forever. Tons of information on this online. Not sure if SAP did anything about it in the last few years (doubt that).

If you need this in Excel then why not just create an Excel file directly? Otherwise reducing the size is the only option, as noted above.
