How to create a custom program for purchaing groups creation

Hi Experts,

We are getting high volume of CRS for the creation of purchasing groups.Every time we need to create in DEV then transport to QAS and then production.We are reuired to send many days in these CRS.We are planning to develop a custom program for this.Just users have to place the file with plant,approval amount limit purchasing group.We want to give this responsibility to users.Kindly anyone advise how to achive this?

Dear Sir ;

Please note that NEW Purchase Group Creation is a configuration activity and my any meany you are not supposed to create directly in production either by manually or by LSMW or any other upload program ,It will be a huge audit issue . I hope you got my point .

You can use SAP provided FMs to execute generated table maintenance functions like VIEW_MAINTENANCE_SINGLE_ENTRY.

To prevent transport requests pop-up and lock due to client status, use SOBJ to convert maintenance to current settings.

There were very valid concerns raised by Jurgen in the post that Juwin linked. I agree it's actually not a great idea to give this configuration to the users.

It only takes a moment to create/change a purchasing group, so I'm also confused why would anyone spend days on that. Either there is much more to this or you just need someone with better copy-pasting skills.

Hi Jelena,

We are getting a very high volume of CRs.In each month we are spending 15 mandays for purchasing group changes.Hence we want to develop custom program to allow uses to create/change the puchasing groups on their own.

Hi Anu

How about using a WebDynpro app to create a screen where the users can create directly in production you can setup an approval process for it if needed.

We created something called as business units which was a custom object in production directly

Do check this option as well this should update the table T024

OK, but what further replies are expected from the community here? All the options have already been mentioned above. If the expectation is that someone will provide a ready-to-use custom program then I believe it's unreasonable.
