# symbol issue while upload .csv file to sap application server.

Hi Experts,

1) While uploading attached .csv file to Al11 path using CG3Z / custom report we are getting # symbols and find the below screenshot.Those # symbols are not there in file.

2) While uploading same attached .csv file to sap using FM TEXT_CONVERT_XLS_TO_SAP also we are getting # symbols issues.

Can any one help me on above issue.

A '#' means that you have some special characters in your file that cannot be translated using the standard code page. Check your original file for special characters and replace them. Using the BIN option in CG3Z might help as well but then you need to make sure the end of line characters are corrected for the target system.

Hi Narsaiah,

Whenever you upload a file on application server, # symbol is appeared at end of every row. This is to let the application server know where a particular record is ending in file.

You cannot avoid this symbol.

What problems are you facing due to this symbol? please let us know about that so that we can help you better.
