Custom error message in VC02

Hi All,

I am executing transaction code vc02.When I click on output button at the top, it shows an output entry with RED icon. I tried to find out the reason for failure from processing log button, I found a custom error message is responsible for red icon.I noted down message class and message number and tried where used list in se91 however not hits are found.Can anybody guide me how to debug this kind of situation?(The standard VC02 seems a bit complicated and with no entries found for custom message in SE91 ITS BIT CHALLENGING).

You can set a breakpoint at statement MESSAGE.

As Rob mentioned you can always go on with breakpoints. Or goto the tcode VC02 and debug it, create a watchpoint at MESSAGE. This is easy infact. Happy Debugging

Hi Both,
Thanks for replies.

I have applied break points at message with type E.

Debugger is stopping at several error messages.

One of the message is as follows:

call function 'SAPSCRIPT_MESSAGE_DEF'
            exporting no = 604
                      v1 = language.
       message e604 with language raising language.

I am unable to understand what exactly the error message text is in debugger.

I will be thankful for kindly guiding what this message is or how to find underlying text is?

As you mentioned earlier 'When I click on output button at the top, it shows an output entry with RED icon.' before clicking on the output button give '/H' in the command box means the debugging mode is switched on, then click the output button and you will switch into the debugging mode- Exactly to where you are getting the error message. Hope this helps.

However, control hasn’t stpped on required custom error message.

Hi,

This error is associated with script format i.e. it is a script format error.

TD 604 describes:

Language & is not allowed

Diagnosis

You want to edit a text. However, the text language specified does not exist.

System Response

Editing is rejected.

Procedure

The valid language keys are listed in Table T002. Please check the entries in this table.

Is this the error you are facing?

No thats not the error I am are facing. Why I asked this question is because even after applying break-point on all messages, control hasn’t stopped on the custom error message I am facing.I was wodering may be error message populated in some other way other than simple “MESSAGE…..” way.

Error message visible from processing Log is “Output was not process correctly as the user is unknown in the system.”

Kindly help.

How to view error in script format? How to read this format?

MESSAGE e011 RAISING address_not_exist.
