Creating ABAP program through COFILES and DATAFILES without STMS

Hi Folks,

My requirement is peculiar. I dont have access for STMS but I have COFILES and DATAFILES generated through released TR.

Is there any way to create program without using STMS by using COFILES and DATAFILES.

Yes, you can ask the Basis team to copy/import these files in the target system.

You can have the program available then.

My main issue is this only. We are not getting client approval for transporting those files through STMS. So I was seeking any other way to get those program in my current program.

Dear Ashish,

You need not to go to STMS

Ask Basis team to go the file system directly and copy those files and import into your system.

And how do you think Basis team would do that exactly? Use a magic wand? And most importantly - why would they do it if it was not approved?

@OP - aren't you afraid to get into trouble with "client" for this?

Jelena is right. Your client has not approved the import of the transport into the next system. You are seeking to bypass that approval step and find a way around it and import your stuff anyway. If you did that in my organization, you would be escorted to the door immediately and never welcome back.

It's not the "use of STMS" that your client has not approved, it's the import of the transport, by whatever means (STMS, tp, or anything that mimics/bypasses those processes).

Your client's Basis team, by the way, should really look into their filesystem security. You should not have direct access to the cofiles and datafiles for your released transports. There's no need for developers to have access to those files.

Matt, I am just guessing here....but suppose this person....or a "friend" of this person....has put some "program" into a transport and dumped it out from their system somewhere else...let's call this "another client"....and now this person wants to import it at their own client...can you not see where this might be coming from now? hahahaha

Oh yeah. And there would be easier ways to do that than messing with transports.

This question comes up fairly regularly, "How can I bypass the security/transport/controls/whatever at my client? Mean customer basis/management team is getting in the way of my attempts to hack their system!"

100% we have to follow the client approval.

Hello Folks,

My intention is not hack in some system and do the things which I am not suppose to do. I want to create program through those files(If you can check my question again).

My aim was to get program from one system to my current system and which is as per client instruction.

Now I can 1. Copy that program and get into my current system(Program is huge, trying to find easy way).

2. Get it transported directly my system by getting tranport path created.

3. Get cofiles and datafiles uploaded and transported.

We have legitimate access to cofiles and datafiles.I wanted do the same with legitimacy.

Since the communication to my question is going to unexpected direction, I am closing this thread.

Yes. Solution we already have in place is that to generate XML file from source system for those program and upload it to target system. It is as per client and organization's guidelines.

This thread was more intended to learning perspective and not to do things without authorisation.
