Table control: column visible length is zero

Hello All,

I'm facing an issue with table control in module pool. I have a column with visible length is 16.

Once execute my program it is getting zero, before loading the screen itself, and column is not appearing in the output list. Couldn't find the reason why the length is becoming 0.

Kindly suggest me why its happening.

Hi Nagendra,

How you declared table controls field?

Used any defined work area for declaration?

Check the property for the respective column in screen painter.

provide some more information like screen information of field in table control or code.

Hi Nagender,

Few days back, I was facing the same issue. Follow the steps:

1. Execute the transaction. Table control will appear. click on the button shown in the below screen shot.

2. Following screen will come. Click on the adminstrator button.

3. Right click on the new screen, and click on 'Delete System Settings'. Then Follow the steps (1, 2, 3, 4 ) shown in below screen shot.

4. Close the transaction and sap. Login again and check.

Thanks for your reply.

I have done the same but still facing the same problem. I already checked the system settings using administrator option. After doing the above steps still the visible length is showing zero.

But at screen level the length is 16 in element list tab and if execute the screen at time of design(Screen level), column is appearing with length of 16.

Any other hints??

Nagendra, I faced the same issue and resolved it by following the already mentioned steps. Make sure while going fo deletion as per the steps mentioned earlier, Basic settings should be there in the list drop down box of Current settings and system settings(refer 2nd screenshot in my previous reply).

Once you click on the button "Update" is in the Administrator dialog box, could you check table TCVIEW for your report/user/control?

I was having the same situation were the length of column 'Requisitioner' in PO was set to zero and field grayed-out, after using the 'Delete' option in 'Edit system settings' screen it went back to normal.
