Password Protected Excel File as Mail attachment

Hi Experts,

I have a requirement to create a program that sends mails with attachment, the attachment will be a excel file and password protected. I tried this with OLE, but the problem is that is OLE does not work when the program is scheduled as background job.

Any suggestions as how to get the requirement done?

Thanks for Your response Luis!

Actually i want a password prompt even while opening the file itself and displaying the contents. Worksheet/Workbook Protection can be achieved by using ABAP2XLSX or XML document classes like: if_ixml,if_ixml_document, but not password protection for even displaying the file.

Any suggestions?

As ABAP2XSLX works with the Excel files in XML structure, I guess it's not possible to protect the file with password, even if you try to enhance the classes. When an Excel file is password protected, it can be open in XML format, according to a test I've done.

So, I may be wrong, but as you need to generate in background (which makes OLE not possible) , and protect with password, I don't think it's possible to achieve it with ABAP.
