Screen painter issue

Hi Gurus,

One of the user not able to open the SAP screen painter from his location. When he tried to open the screen painter he is getting error like "Graphicla Layout Editor is not available. Continue with alphanumeric editor". Also he tried test the RFC connection "EU_SCRP_WN32". Same got failed with below error

From our end we are able to open the screen painter without any issue and able to perform the connection test for RFC EU_SCRP_WN32 successfully.

Hello Zahir,

In the initial screen of the screen painter (TCODE SE51), choose 'Utilities' ---> Settings. A pop-up showing the user specific settings is displayed. Choose the tab screen painter. In that tick the check box Graphical layout editor. This will launch Graphical screen painter.

Did you try to

Reinstall/Upgrade his SAP GUI (there is also a check installation icon in the SAP GUI option)
Change the time out of the RFC destination (special options, Keep-Alive-Timeout)

This option is already marked in SE51 screen painter.

Hi,

We had the same problem (timeout) starting screen painter on a SAPGUI client pc.

The issue coud be solved by adding the missing sapgw00, sapgw01, etc. entries in the services file located at the \windows\system32\drivers\etc directory on the SAPGUI client pc.
