Re trigger release strategy for PRs

hi,

We have item level release strategy in place for PRs. Now we have done some changes to release strategy configuration. we would like to re trigger the release strategy for all the PRs according to new release strategy config. How can we do this using a program? is there any class/FM that we can use?

Hi,

Check these Options. May help you.

Regarding the issue of re-releasing a PR/PO after it has been released and then subsequently changed, please follow the steps below.

1) SPRO --> MM --> Purchasing --> PR --> Release Procedure --> Procedure with classification --> Set up procedure with classification --> Release Indicator

2) Double click on the indicator that you use for the Release (Most of the time, it would be 2 - RFQ/purchase order)

3) Set the changeabil to 4 (Changeable, new release in case of new release strategy or val change)

With the setting above, it will re-trigger the release strategy. It can be re triggering the same Release Strategy or a different one, depending on the changes that you have made to PR.

However, if the change is a decrease in Value, it will not re-trigger the release. Only an increase in val change will it trigger a new release strategy.

2. You can reset the release using BAPI_REQUISITION_RESET_RELEASE by writing a small program and force save the PR using BAPI_PR_CHANGE.

3. Try some implicit enhancement in FM ME_REL_STRATEGIE_EBAN. Never tried it.

with the first option i believe we have to make changes to each PR. I can't do third option. coming to second option what do you mean by forcing the change using BAPI_PR_CHANGE?

When you reset the Status, you have to re-trigger the PR save functionality in order to have it the new strategy. BAPI_PR_CHANGE is for that reason.

hi,

the FM BAPI_REQUISITION_RESET_RELEASE , I think resets already approved realease code. For BAPI_PR_CHANGE we need to change something in the item, but I don't want to do that. I don't undertstand how these to FMs are related in our scenario?

For PRs that we are interested , release strategy has been triggered but no approval happened. we stopped the approval by giving an error message in BADI. Now we have set up a new strategy, so we want PRs to follow that now. hope I am clear now.

First use BAPI_REQUISITION_RESET_RELEASE

and then BAPI_REQUISITION_RELEASE.

I dont think you have understood what I am saying. reset_release Fm only works if there is atleast one approval aready happnened. In my case it is not the case. Also why shold I use requistion_release FM? I don't want to release the PR
