Restrict background job runtime

Is there any way to restrict background job run-time? we have a job running every 5 mins and at times the job hangs possibly due to network issue. This is less frequent but whenever it happens need to cancel job manually sometimes middle of the night. Would appreciate if there is any way to restrict the job runtime from abap program ?

Hi Suhel,

You can make use of the standard parameter rdisp/max_wprun_time to control the processing time.

Using RZ11 you can set the defined values and control the required process.

Hello Suhel,

No time restriction applies to background work processes.

Maybe you need write some ABAP program or third-part application to do that.
