BACKGROUND Cancel (When DEBUG is OK)

Hello everybody,

I have a problem and i don't know what else i can do.

I have a Z program, it can be run in foreground or background.

Foreground is OK, but when i run in background it show as "Cancel" in SM37, but when i debug the background it works fine.

Can anyone help me?

A simple example: When i run in background it doesn't delete the file, but when i debug the background it deletes.

is it a BDC program? and what the Cancel job log says?

Share the error message after the cancellation of job or share the screen shot of job log.

No, it's not a BDC programa.

Just appear "Cancel" there is no protocol, no spool, etc.

Do u have any idea?

Just doesn't appear any message in the end of job.

Share the log of the background job and tell us what the program does.

So, in fact, it cannot be run in background, because it "cancels"? Have you checked ST22 for a dump?

Hello Lucas,

Are you trying to d0wnload/read/delete file on presentation server(your PC). If yes , then it is not possible in background mode.

Are you using any GUI related function or class, also as Matthew wrote, did you check for dump in ST22 or messages in SM21 or job log ?

Hello,

So, im deleting, reading and creating files in a server.

I run the program in my computer and read/delete/create file in a server.

I've just checked the ST22 and SM21, but there are only some errors not from my user.

I just don't understand why when i debug the job the file is deleted/created/read and when i run the job normally it gives me "Cancel" and doesn't delete/read/create files.

EDIT: Guys i was testing some scenarios, i created a program really simple and the job still canceling, i think is something with the user, i'll keep looking for answers and when i found the solution i post. Thanks until now.

Check authorisations. You can use ST01 to trace.

I think Debugging a background job is similar to running the program in foreground.

I think they found the problem, this situation is happening for all users.
