BAPI BAPI_ALM_NOTIF_CHANGEUSRSTAT not returning messages

Hi All,

I have used the BAPI's

1) BAPI_ALM_NOTIF_CHANGEUSRSTAT , 2 ) BAPI_ALM_NOTIF_SAVE & 3 ) BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT.

I am trying to update the PM Notification Status, these bapis when used updates the notification status well

but the problem it is not returning the Updated the Values.

I have used the Return parameter associated with BAPIRET2.

I am not able to find out if the BAPI's have really udpated the status or not.

Not sure where i have gone wrong.

Hi Ranjith,

The RETURN parameter only gives you the error messages that may happen. You can check the new statuses in parameters SYSTEMSTATUS and USERSTATUS.

Hi Ranjith,

the German fm docu says "Fehler werden im Parameter RETURN übergeben." which means, that errors only can be found in TABLES parameter RETURN.

Please check, if EXPORTING parameter USERSTATUS is filled in success only.

EDIT: Custodio was faster 😉

In the BAPI BAPI_ALM_NOTIF_CHANGEUSRSTAT

USRSTATUS has the data.

Exporting parameter

USRSTATUS

BAPI2080_NOTADT-USRSTATUS

User Status Notification

The problem for me is that when the User runs the BAPI to update the Status,

i) If the Notification has the Same Status or ii) if there is a new status

then it should return with a message

Hi Ranjith,

this feature isn't supported by the BAPI.

To get the current status settings before update you can use fm STATUS_READ.

Hi Ranjith,

the best way is to call BAPI_ALM_NOTIF_CHANGEUSRSTAT only, if there is a need to do it.

If the user status is already set, there is no need to call it.

To get the current status situation you can call fm STATUS_READ. With this information you can decide, if it is necessary to call the BAPI for setting the new status active, or if the status is already set, not to call the BAPI.

Before the BAPI_ALM_NOTIF_CHANGEUSRSTAT call i am checking for the status and it is working fine.
