Smartform locking SAP GUI

Hi all,

I have installed my SAP GUI 7.3 about 5 days ago and now I am facing a problem with it.

When editing Smartforms and trying to change normal texts (using the new Word Editor attached to it), it works fine for about 2 minutes and then the whole SAP is locked and all my SAP screens get locked as well, then I have to restart all SAP modes again.

Anybody has any idea why this trouble is occurring?

I developed a smartform in 2 days with no problems, and then when developing the second one I came across this error and cannot work with this bug.

Hello Rodolfo,

Problem might be in the GUI file. Download it from the SAP marketplace and install it.

Thanks for the information.

I have already tried it before, and still locking my whole SAP.

I have 2 forms opened here at the same time.

Do you think SAP can be locking due to multiple access to the "MS Word" that is now linked to Smartforms?

Update to Latest Patch of GUI. Its Patch 7.
Check if your MS Office is working fine or not. If any error install it.
If still error persists. run program RSCPSETEDITOR.

Deactivate SAPscript and Smart Form boxes

And click in Activate button.

redo the same and reactivate it.

Hi Satyabrata,

I have already done all these steps, and the same error still happens.

I'm not really sure about the error, but it might be due to the access to MS Word.

If you try to open 2 smartforms in different screens and keep switching between them (about 4-5 times), choosing TEXTS objects in both of them (each time you switch, select a different text on them), you will get the SAP GUI lock.
