Problems with Eclipse

Hi Sap Guru,

Forgive my bad English.

I decided to switch to Eclipse. I have scrupulously followed the procedures described in qesto link.

AiE easy installation - ABAP Development - SCN Wiki ( Thanks Gregor Wolf for nice job ).

I installed correctly the new packages ADT 2.19 on Eclipse Juno.

Then when i try to connect to SAP ECC6 Ehpt6 i have this message:

An internal error occurred during: "Reading repository objects".

com.sap.adt.communication.exceptions.SystemFailureException: System failure: "The ASSERT condition was violated." Where is the problem?

Hi Vincenzo,

I think we need more informations. The exception can come come out of different reasons.

Did you check the Dump in ST22? What does it say. I mean, it talks to you, do check that...

Second: did you check on this document:

Third: is that a error, which occurs by starting eclipse, or when you try to create a new project?

Are the services all active, you need to connect with your eclipse?

I think, it doesn't is eclipse, where something is wrong.

the project is created successfully.

the error occurs when I try to access the System Library.

ST22

you must excuse me if my information is not sufficiently clear, it is the first time that I apply this procedure.

Should be activated SNC on the server? Could this be the error?

Yes, this seem so. So it isn't a bug, it is just a permission thing

But, is your realease really ready to use the AIE-Tools. I'm not that into the ECC Releases, can you post your SAP_Basis Release with patchlevel please.

HEre is the official SAP-Note, out of there you will be able to see a lot good stuff you may need, if your issue is bigger than that, we see at the moment.

we use SAP_BASIS 731 Level patch 0.

Could I use Eclipse with the Demo SAP Netweaver for practice?

Which version you suggest?

When my informations are correct, you need at least

AS ABAP with SAP Kernel 7.20

and

SAP BASIS 7.31 Support Package Stack 04.

Out of that, your level is not high enough to use ABAP in Eclipse Tools.

I don't got the official site right at the moment, but you can find it in the AIE Space here in SCN also.
