      <title>Batch Job issue</title>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hi,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;we have a strange problem occuring in PRD.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;There is a batch job which has a variant attached with a Program.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The job places file on application server which goes to 3rd party.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Now the same job was running successfully couple of weeks back but since few days the file is generated on app-server but with 0 entries.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;So we manually ran the program in background mode with same variant and it ran successfully with records.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;We are not able to get to the root cause.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Inputs appreciated.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Aditya &lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

While scheduling a job, it is always better to give the instance name of the application server on which the background job should run. &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Check SM36( First screen)-Exec. Target parameter. &lt;/STRONG&gt; Here target system is the name of the application server where the job will run.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

So, it seems to be user authorization issue.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt; If possible, can you logon with the user id of the batch job user ( otherwise try with userid DDIC ) and then execute the report in background and check whether the file is getting generated or not.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Also check the os level file permissions for the folder in the application server.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;-rwxr--xr--&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Regards,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;DPM&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
