Is there a way to let 2 developers edit the same program ?

Hello,

We know in Ms .net platforms 2 or more developers can edit the same program but different versions locally.

How about in ABAP programs, since at one time, only the active version as of SAP server can be edited !

Question is how to enable to 2 developers work on the same program , but different versions.

Any ideas will be will come.

Not possible with the standard SE80 as far as I know, maybe can do this, please have a look there.

Hi Gurpreet,

are you talking about a custom program , or a standard program,

a custom program can be copied with other name, and modifications

can be carried out simultaneously on both,.

But working on same program simultaneously i thing its not possible.

Thanks Thomas for a quick reply. ABAP in Eclipse also connects to SAP server - no local editing is allowed.

Thanks Sanjeev for quick reply. We do use such an approach whenever possible , but its not scalable - given that the program is a function pool.

There is no way we can have two modifiable versions of the same program.

If it is a function pool, create INCLUDE programs inside the Function pool.

Create a include for every person and do their coding in their respective include program.

If you are willing to code without syntax check and compilation, you can even write ABAP code in good old notepad.
