Warning message from User EXIT

Hi ,

We need to produce a Warning Message for a particular Business Scenario in side a user Exit.

But we are not able to TRIGGER a WARNING MESSAGE but are able to TRIGGER an ERROR MESSAGE. Is it a limitation of USER EXIT that Warning Messages are not produced but Error Messages can be? and is there any other way we can produce the WARNING MESSAGE from the USER EXIT.

Hi,

I dont think there is any limitations for the message types in user exits. Restrictions exists for Field exists but i am not sure if there is any restriction exists for User exit.

I guess it depends on when the user exit is being called in the program flow. Can you tell us which user exit and when its being called?

AS PER YOUR QUERY YOU CAN CREATE THE WARNING MESSAGE IN USER EXIT.

Hi Vijay,

the Code is

IF wa_qmsm-mncod(2) <> i_rqeva-vcode(2).

MESSAGE w019(zmsx) WITH i_rqeva-vcode wa_qmsm-mncod.

ENDIF.

and the Exit is EXIT_SAPMQEVA_010. It is for Usage Decision Chcek in QM.

Except Error Message of Type E no other (W, S,I) is giving any message on the Status .

Hi Arunava,

The code looks quite ok to me. Not sure why you are not able to trigger a warning message from the exit. We are using a lot of exists with warning messages and i am not sure why u r having this problem.

Since the user exit is triggerd for usage decision i dont see any issue related to the time of call.

Try looking into OSS notes if there is any pointers you can find.
