Create a transaction for each query and use transaction code to control access. Maintaining query assignment does not scale. When you have many users the effort required will be too big and you will always forget to remove assignments. IdM can't handle query assignment nor HR org. structure can.

Cheers

Hello All,

We are in the process of creating new user ID's. I would like to know what steps should I keep in mind so that the new user ID's are properly assigned to the queries.

I have already checked the FM: RSAQ_IMPORT_USERGROUP_CATALOG. But I am not quite sure if I am seeing the right information in there. Under O_DBBN - I only two entries under columns NUM (is this user group?) and BNAME. Does this mean there are only two users in my organization using the queries? (seems unlikely!) Where do I see to which queries these users are assigned? Under O_DBBS - I see 25 entries, it seems to me like these are queries in the current (?) environment. But again, it does not list who are the users.

I would appreciate any help.

Thanks!

Vijay

Thanks Martin, that is a good tip indeed. Once the new ID's are implemented, I plan to do this! But I still need to find a way to figure out all the users assigned to the queries. Will keep digging.

Vijay

The function module is useful in getting list of standard SAP queries, but I don't think it includes Quick View queries. Thanks Martin.

Thanks Pavan.

Looks like this is the approach we will have to take as well as there is no standard procedure to copy over Quick Views. The issue I see with this approach is, as per our table extract from AQLTS (by looking into field Text which also stores username:queryname information) we seem to have over 1000 Quick Views. Manually converting each Quick View to SAP Query does not make sense. How did you execute this? Is LSMW possible? I am creating a LSMW script to test it.

Update:

It is possible to create LSMW script for mass copy. I did have to delete screen field entries under SAPMS38R 0050 from LSMW recording. Also, had to use "Display only errors" processing mode (somehow Background processing kept failing).

However, I still have not found a straight forward way to get a list of all Quick Views maintained by each user (for me it will be a manual exercise), unless there is a function module that gives the result?
