Runtime error 5216, there is a printer error while printing document thru SAP

Hi Guru's,

Our client creates inspection protocols & saves the word file of protocol in transaction CV01N. The document is then checked in. In CV02N transaction status of document is changed & the last status set of the document is Released after which it is printed via customized transaction. The word file of the document contains macro for inspection lot no., batch no., document no., version. The values of macro get printed while printing document in customized transaction.

While initial printing of document, document is printed properly. But when the user goes for reprinting of same document system gives error " Run time error 5216, there is a printer error." & the document is not printed.

Whether this is a SAP error or microsoft office error & how to resolve it.

Hi Amit

It looks like to be Printer error. What name do you have of the printer in Macro..?

Try google you will find solution to it.

Hi Madan,

My confusion is that if there is a problem with printer name, then why system allows printing in first attempt. Because we are facing this problem at the time of reprint only. Bit confusing. Not sure why this is happening.
