hi there.....i am trying to get data from some fields from transaction va03.....in the plant field data was extracted from vbap-werks.......but there was no data in werks field in vbap table........why?

I think you have try to ask SAP for technical information : F1 + tech. info

That will give you the dictionnary field link to your dynpro field, not the exact place where SAP store the informations. If you want to know where SAP store the information, you will have to put a SQL trace (ST05) and modify this field.

It's a functional question. The value for VBAP-WERKS comes from 2 sites in this order: KNVV-WERKS or MVKE-WERKS according values or sales organization and so on. See the help (press F1) and read it.

In VBAP table, Go to Entry help/check tab.There you will find one search help attached to WERKS field ,which can be of use for you.

You can go to that collective search. Look for included search helps. Clicking on selection method will take you to database view where you can find related Table/Join conditions.

Hi Sandeep,

Is there any value written in plant? If yes, that is 100% extracted from vbap-werks. If your vbap table does not have it, reply us with screenshots.

when i tryed to do as u said.....there is a popup with warning.....there is no search help linked to the field VBAP-WERKS

there is a werks field in the table but there is no data assigned to that field..........when i had given a sample i/p at VA03 it is displaying plant data....but it was showing it was extracted from vbap-werks.......

Dear Sandeep,

I think you are doing some enhancement. while doing enhancement hope you are not getting WERKS from VBAP structure.

Will get WERKS from TKOMK stucture.

In Entry help\check tab one of the column is 'Srch Help'.So for WERKS field you will see the related search help in this 'Srch Help' column. I am attaching a screen shot for your better understanding.

Hi Sandeep,

Generally the field VBAP-WERKS should have the plant data.

If it is blank, then check your document, it would be of type G - Contract..
