How will I correct syntax error in standard SAP ABAP program?

I want to know how can i correct standard program in SAP ABAP as it gives syntax error. That program has a name BC430_CHECK. This program is provided in IDES system which i have. This program helps you check your answers with regard to creating Tables in ABAP dictionary and fill the created tables with sample data. Now that I get syntax error I am unable to check my exercises and get the tables filled with sample data. Without this I cannot continue with further exercises in my practical. Please help me on this issue

Ides system sometime throws such error because of wrong data or incorrect installation. is this stopping you doing something? avoid it if you can.

It says " last statement terminated incorrectly(period missing). " despite there is a period.

It doesnt allow me to do work with my ABAP dictionary tables. It fills the tables created in the dictionary with sample data which is required for later exercises in practicals

If that the case, have you tried to make a Z* copy of BC430_CHECK and fix the syntax error by yourself ?

HI Omkar,

Since the error is raised in SAP standard program, then it will be really a tough job to analyse and find out the root cause of this error.

SAP standard objects don't have any syntax errors, it seems there is some problem with the table you are creating or updating.

As Nguyen suggested in the above post, I would also suggest you to create a Z* program by copying the standard BC430_CHECK and try once. This would help you to analyse why this error is coming, because you would be able to edit the Z* program and using trail and error method you would come to some conclusion.

Mark it if you are correct.

SE38
enter BC430_CHECK
do not click anywhere just click execute button .

if you try to check or edit , it gives error .

the program will be executed and screen appears

hope this helps .

(P.S. when you go further you will face more errors which i think cant be solved. Buggy program .

Error: program not Unicode compatible.)

Hi Omkar,

There might some configuration issues that caused this problem. In this scenario please do the following:

1) Go To SE38

2) Execute the report: RV80HGEN

Once, the execution of this program is finished, it should solve all your existing configuration issues in the system.

Arnab,

RV80HGEN progam is only for activating the custom routines (VOFM) in SD and MM.

Not related to the error posted by Omkar.
