Dear friends

I am working on a problem in which i am supposed to copy one business partner id's long text to another bp id's long text. for that i have used the read text, save text, bupa_execute_longtext, funmodules but my biggest problme is feeding the bp id... because here the along with bp id;s number there is a another number also after some spaces in the STXL table. i ll gave you the how that number is stored. so because of that number i cant gave the bp id number as input. so my problem is her that how i get the bp id along with the that number and also i can distinguise between bp ids. in order to know which text i am supposed to read...

info on long text:

bpid -> Name '0000000001----

20060601003443235'

text id: z0001

object: but000

languate: E

so here the biggest problem is the number which is in name afer followed by spaces and another number...

please help me to carry out this task

Hi,

Can we see this long text in any standard transaction in SAP? If So, which transaction.

If you are able to open the text in the full screen mode, then in the menu GoTo--> Header you will be able to see the parameter value for name.

Which transaction are you using?

Hi Naim,

The Text name may be a combination of certain variables...

say for eg in ur text name

'0000000001----

20060601003443235'

20060601 seems to be a date...similarly, u need to figure out the remaining combination..u will find it in the transaction itself depending on whether its a header text or item text..

after u r able to identify the combination , u need to use concatenation or other formatting options to get the Text NAme so that u can pass it to get the Text...

Hi, IF you know how to view the bussiness partner id long text. you can run tht' that tcode, activate debugger,put break point on FM TEXT_READ_ARCHIVE_OBJECT, here in debugging mode you get all the details like ID, name, object etc. pass the same details to SE37 READ_TEXT.

EXPORTING ARCHIVE_HANDLE = ARCHIVE_HANDLE

ID = ID

LANGUAGE = LANGUAGE

NAME = NAME

OBJECT = OBJECT

EXCEPTIONS NOT_FOUND = 1

WRONG_ACCESS_TO_ARCHIVE = 2.

Can you please put the code here. Also which version of SAP is this.

save_text is Sapscript and it stores the data in and encrypted form in STXL.

So that is the reason you have to use read_text to retrieve this data.

Go to SE37 and execute read_text, it requires:

ID -

this is usually LTXT

LANGUAGE -

NAME -

this is tne name of object under which you have saved usign save_text

OBJECT -

this is the object under which you saved long text using save_text. you can create your own OBject in SE75

Generally NAME will consists of document number alone if its a header related text

for example: if for Purchase order take any header text,NAME will be that POnumber alone.

but for any item text, NAME will consists of PONUMBER+ITEM NO.

for example : po number : 5500000001 (10 digits

header NAME : 5500000001

but ITEM 10 , name will be : 5500000001<b>00010</b>

this 00010 is the line item no.

like that in your case also there is a predefined way might be there, so pl check couple of business partners text & check is the last digits after space is same for all or is differing from partner to partner ? if its differing, you have findout whats the criteria for these values ? if its common for all business partners so your work will be easy & concatenate you partner number with that spaces & digits after this.
