HR Object Type $$

Does anybody know the meaning of object type $$ ?

I recently added OKENN ( cost centre structure) into a role for access to many company codes cost centre structures it, All was ok until it came to accessing a cost centre group, it would not work until object type $$ was added into the role,, not sure what $$ is actually achieveing

Does any body know ?

I had this before when having integrated planning authorizations. sometimes $$ check pops up.

Hi Debbie,

The only times I've seen SAP perform authorization checks against dollar signs was when they were trying to check against full authorization ("*") for certain fields. Depending on your switch settings, you may see the same thing happen for PA as well.

I've always assumed this was happening in old SAP code and though I've encountered this check quite a few times in the trace, the authorization failure was always caused by a previous or other check and I've never had to add "$$" in OTYPE in order to get it to work.

Could you perhaps try to re-run all the activities and analyze the system trace again for other checks that are failing before the "$$" check occurs?

Have you also checked SU53 for failed structural authorization checks?
